i had to get out.

I knew moving nearer central London wasn’t going to work out. my stay in Highgate had proved that.

East Finchley had a decent cinema and lots of small shops. a small scale but also a definite identity. I was never going to be able to buy property. this would have to do.

somehow I found admin work and ended up working for a publishing company - which was linked to the aerospace and arms industry.
I was seeing a social worker at the time so I didn’t say much about this job.

when I started as a temp with this company, the commute was a decent tube journey away on Old Street. but they were moving almost all the way to Gatwick airport.

the offer to get a full time permenant job was there. I thought the money was good.

my life had just got shorter.
